Continuous labels are uniform rolls of printable, adhesive-backed gloss paper. This is mounted on a peelable layer like any sticker, except it is not cut horizontally.
These continuous inkjet labels come in rolls four inches wide and 100 feet in length. Unlike the normal rolls of precut labels, the continuous, or endless roll, allows the user to print and cut labels to the size required for the purpose.
These rolls are designed to fit into standard inkjet printers, and cut to size using either an attached cutting tool or a separate label cutter.
Main Features of Continuous Inkjet Labels
- Continuous labels are also called endless labels because they are not cut to size
- The 4” x 100’ high gloss continuous labels come in a box of eight rolls.
- Each roll has a high-gloss printable outside
- The inside of the paper is coated with an adhesive
- The adhesive side is mounted on a stiff backing board
- Each label can be printed to any size required, with a height of width limit of 4”
Benefits of High-Gloss Continuous Inkjet Labels
The high-gloss paper has several advantages over matte or semi-gloss finishes:
- It makes printing stand out better with better colors that look more saturated
- Text is easier to read because the edges of the letters are better defined
- A gloss finish has a more premium appearance that suits applications such as invitations, food, or cosmetic labeling.
- Gloss paper is more durable because it has a protective coating
- This coating makes it more moisture-resistant
- It is more suitable for frequent handling
- It is resistant to scratches or scuffing
- Gloss paper is less prone to fading in direct sunlight
Applications for Gloss Continuous Labels
These labels are used in various industries, ranging from small boutique labeling to industrial-scale use:
Logistics and supply chain management uses continuous inkjet labels to label products, larger packs, and shipping pallets. The different shipping formats and variable quantities make continuous labels ideal.
Research and design that need flexible and durable labeling that can be customized in quantity, print quality, and size.
Retail and product labeling that changes frequently or needs specific adaptation for short runs. This could include product pack shots, pricing or packaging images, and barcodes.
Production and product labeling in industries such as the automotive and consumer electronics space require labels with new or sequential serial numbers or product specifications.
Office admin needs to sort, pack, and store hard copies of thousands of documents. These have to be labeled accurately with the file, folder, storage box, or larger container name. Continuous labels are a cost-effective, labor-friendly way to achieve this.
Why Consider Continuous Labels
Continuous inkjet labels offer an efficient and cost-effective way to deal with business and other demands in a world where tailored solutions are increasingly important.
Where precut labels will always have their place, their application is limited. Gloss continuous labels allow the precise printing and cutting of custom labels in limited quantities, at the most cost-effective rate, using technology simple and affordable enough for small to medium enterprises.
