FAQ

What is the difference between fanfold thermal and regular labels?

Fanfold thermal labels are stacked and pre-folded. Why is this useful? It allows for continuous feed printing without the need for rolls. It’s perfect for high-volume environments. Speed and efficiency in these environments are critical. Regular labels on rolls need to be frequently reloaded, which isn’t ideal for busy environments. It also takes more storage space, which is why fanfold is the go-to for high-volume businesses.

What is the life of a thermal label?

If you store labels properly, they can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months. But you have to keep them in a cool and dry place. It needs to be away from direct sunlight and humidity. This preserves adhesive strength and maintains print quality.

Do thermal label printers run out of ink?

No. At least not in the traditional sense. Thermal transfer printers use ribbons, not ink or toner. The ribbon does need to be replaced at regular intervals. But on the other hand, you have direct thermal printers. These use heat-sensitive paper, so don’t use ribbons or ink.

How do I decide if fanfold thermal labels are what I need?

If your business requires high-volume, uninterrupted printing with durable, long-lasting labels, fanfold labels are an excellent choice. If you’re unsure, our team can help you choose the best format for your printer and application.
